A great season, nonetheless!
Fine, NC took my beloved Sparties to the woodshed. We knew that was one of the possibilities, although I thought MSU would hang in there a bit better than they did. Regardless, kudos to UNC for a great championship and an exciting season. For my Green...

Can it happen?
Obviously, I am pulling for the Spartans in tonight's championship game. Do I think the Spartans will win? That's a tough call. I am sure they *can* win, but it is far from an answered question. UNC is outrageous, and they can drop some big scores...

Oww, I think someone just got ripped.
http://noise.typepad.com/hey_joe/2009/04/filizzobuster.html Tom Izzo finally kind of let fly at his presser this week, and Joe Rexrode (Hey, Joe!) of the LSJ shared the entire transcript with us. Needless to say, without getting trite or petty, I think...

Spartans advance and other stuff
Great game by the Green and White men last night against Kansas . They had me plenty nervous, but it seemed like there was an underlying desire to get it done, and in the end, they pulled it out. 6 times in 11 years -- not too shabby. Now I have to find...

Go Green!
I just had to throw out some love for Mr. Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Men's Basketball team. Nice job getting to the Sweet Sixteen -- keep it up this coming weekend! Also, a shout out for Suzy Merchant and the Michigan State Women's Basketball...

MSU in the news
But not for athletic endeavors this time -- the scientists at the NSCL at MSU have been awarded funding to produce the Faciliity for Rare Isotope Beams. This new project should keep MSU at the forefront of US Nuclear Physics research for a few more decades...

Spartans making a difference...
Things like this make me proud to be a Spartan: http://www.shinskyorphanage.com/ Check it out. Good stuff from an MSU grad -- using his life and skills to make the world a better place to be...

Big Ten Network and Comcast
If you are a college football fan and happen to pull for a Big Ten team, I am sure you've heard of the flap between Comcast and the Big Ten network over carrying the fledgling network's programming. Unfortunately, for fans in southeast Michigan...

RIP George Webster
George Webster has passed away. One of the all-time great college football players, and certainly one of the greatest ever to play at MSU. Joe has a nice writeup both in the Journal and on his blog. First Mad Dog Thornhill, and now George Webster -- unfortunately...

MSU basketball recruiting success
Delvon Roe is coming to Michigan State This is a pretty big recruiting success for Tom Izzo and his staff. The 2008 class is shaping up VERY nicely. Korie Lucious and Delvon Roe with the possibility of getting Draymond Green as well. Craziness...

It's good to be a Spartan
The Green and White Hockey team has shown that they can play with anyone in the country, ousting BU, Notre Dame, and Maine in consecutive games in the NCAA Hockey Tournament. SuperDave gets credit for being the first to recognize that they whooped up...

Go Green!!!
Just have to throw out a little love for the Green and White -- great showing tonight at the Breslin Center against a top-ranked team. I enjoyed every minute of it, especially since I was at bowling -- in Ann Arbor (of course) and the various people around...

Go Green!
The Green and White take on the Idaho Vandals today, hopefully dispatching them in short order. The Sparties seem to usually do a pretty good job of taking care of business with the pre-season (not counting Notre Dame, they're practically a Big 10...
